Question Good Porsche Books

Any recommendations?

So far I have 'Porsche Chronicles', which gives a decent introduction into the marque, but nothing too specific/new. Now I'm looking to get more in-depth into the marque...

I've heard good things about Paul Frere's '911 Story'. Any others?

"Porsche: Excellence Was Expected"

Out of print. You may be able to acquire through B&N or Amazon, they have old titles locator. Or, if you're in a metropolitan area, a large public library may have a copy.

A used book (out of print) I'd recommend is "Cars Are My Life" by Ferry Porsche. The story of his life and the Porsche company in his words. It gives you good insight into what drove the company through WW II into the 1980's. There are several copies listed on www.abebooks.com ($17, $35, and $90) I got my copy from the UK for around $25. If you can't buy one, see if you can borrow one through interlibrary loan.

Robert Bentley will be publishing an updated version of this in 2002.

Bill,

I'd read of that possibility. Now, I will be anxiously awaiting release of the revised printing!
