?Sunroof Key?
OK, I had bought a 1984 944 and I was reading information I got off the internet about how to open the sunroof and it says "Turn the Sunroof Key and you will hear a noise" but, where is the Sunroof Key at? I had looked everywhere, but there are a couple of buttons that don't work in this car so that has to be them. But my question is to be exactly sure, Where Exactly Is That Key? HELP ME PLEASE!!! <img src="graemlins/crying.gif" border="0" alt="[crying]" /> mark_big_daddy@hotmail.com

if it is a power sunroof the instructions you have wont help a bit.
Power sunroof opens as follows: turn ignition key to first detent (accessory position), press sunroof button (first button on drivers side of panel) to lower the retaining arms, push up sunroof and remove.
Reverse for installation.

Mark,
Opening the sunroof is a 2 switch process. There is a single rocker switch on the center console and a button switch on the roof at the front edge of the sunroof ---looks like an off-square metal tab. The 'key' reference relates to this tab. The sunroof originally came with a plastic 'lever' or 'tab' or extension that rotated from the front edge of the sunroof and rested under the off-square tab switch ---kind of pressing it in (so that opening the roof wouldn't require two hands). I think this might have bee a safety feature. Anyway. The plastic 'lever' could be pushed back inside the sunroof or it could be broken off --in which case if you looked at the s/r you would prob see a ragged plastic edge.
Anyway, with the ignit On, you should be able to open the S/R by pressing both switches. You only need to use the console switch to close it, though.
