Post Selling Very Nice 86.5

I am selling a very nice 86.5 Porsche 928S. VIN WPOJB0927GS861290 I will be placing it on e-bay if I do not hear from one of you within 5-days. I wanted to give my fellow rennlisters first shot. The car has the Guards Red exterior and Black leather interior. This is a classic Porsche / sports car color combo. The 86.5 denotes that it was made after 1000 of the 1986 model run, and it comes with a better braking system. It has larger brakes and ABS. This model came with the 32V V8 putting out 288hp from the factory. This car is equipped with the 4 speed auto transmission, which was made by Daimler Benz. This is a fairly bullet-proof transmission, and is considered the preference over the 5-speed for many 928 owners. It shifts very nicely, and it fits with the character of the 928 as the ultimate GT. This car has just over 81,000 miles, and I am the third owner. I have all of the records since new, and this car has led a pampered life! The major timing belt service was just done within the last 5,000 miles, and it was done the right way. In addition to the timing belt being replaced, the water pump, all rollers, idlers, bushings, boots, gaskets and water hoses (I think there are 5 total) were replaced. At the same time, all the belts and filters were changed. Also, the 30,000mile transmission service, 24,000 mile brake service, and 3000 mile oil change service was done at the same time. The car was just in for the initial timing belt retention. Just replace all window, defrost, and wiper switches on center console. The car has been maintained by either Porsche Dealerships or professional shops with 928 trained techs since new. This car should be trouble free and major maintenance free for many miles.
This car comes with many extras, and I will try to list them all here:
1. 928 Specialist Rear Muffler Bypass (Original rear muffler included)
2. 928 Specialist Cat Bypass (Original Catalytic Converters included and in good shape)
3. Mille Miglia Spider 18” x 8.5” wheels w/ Sumitomo HTRZII 225/40 ZR18 tires (75% life remaining)
4. New Porsche factory alloy lug nuts and new style Porsche factory wheel lock set.
5. Porsche crest tire valve caps
6. Llumar lifetime warranty metalized window tint (35% on all window except windshield.
7. Red painted and machined caliper dressing
8. 928 Specialist Adj. Fuel Regulator
9. K & N Filter
10. SUPERCHIPS ECU (Originals included)
11. 928 Specialist carbon fiber cross brace
12. Koni Red shocks with Weltmeister springs (full corner balance done)
13. Metal Master brake pads
14. 928 Specialist embroidered floor mats and rear deck mat
15. 928 Specialist alloy interior kit (includes door lock ****, post, handle, door sills, seat back release, switch surrounds, and e-brake handle)
16. Additional alloy look interior mods to finish kit
17. Momo Champion steering wheel with Porsche crest horn button.
18. Blaupunkt Munich stereo/cd player (SW Stereo purchase with custom harness so no wires needed cut)
19. Hella H4 7” light upgrade w/ PIAA Superwhite bulbs
20. Stongard light protection for headlights, driving lights, and fog lights.
21. Stongard door cup protection
22. Mirror Bras
23. 928 Car cover
This car was dyno’d at the Wichita 928 Owners Club event, and produced 254.9hp and 243.6 torque at the rear wheels. This equates to about 318hp and 305 torque at the flywheel. This was also done before the cat bypass was installed and the fuel regulator adjusted to maximize power with that setup. This car is quite fast, but has never been abused. I just installed these mods to get the engine running like it should without all of the EPA mandated garbage. The mods have caused no adverse drivability issues. This car is very tight, and starts and drives like a factory fresh car.
Aesthetically, the car is extremely clean inside and out. The paint is all original, and the car has never been in an accident. There are small, minor rock chips in the front, but no dents or scratches to speak of. The car looks new from 5 feet, and I get asked by unknowing individuals if it is brand new. 928 owners at the Wichita event and Sharks in the Mountains have told me that it is one of the nicest 928s they have ever seen. That is saying something at an event with over 50 928s all owned by fanatics! The interior looks new. There are no tears or rips in the seats. The leather is still in great shape. The dash is in perfect shape. None of the cracks that are so prevalent in 928 cars of any age. There is no warping of any the panels. The tool kit is complete and in new shape. I do not think any of the tools have been used. The spare tire, air compressor and plastic spare bag are also there and also look brand new. The carpet is in great shape, and the mats are nearly new. The rear hatch cover is in perfect shape, and the cargo net is like brand new. I cannot stress how clean this car is. It can be mistaken, and often is, for a new car. I have looked at many 928s and have seen few in as good or better shape than this one.
There are a few minor things that are not perfect.
1. One plastic elbow in the windshield washer system is broken and needs replaced. It is the one that inserts into the plastic cover on the underside of the hood. All other valves and connectors in the system are new, so this elbow should get it working great. The headlight washers work fine.
2. The rear hatch remote release did not work, and this is a common problem with these cars. I had the switches removed from the side-seat console, and had it re-upholstered to cover the holes. You can still buy new switches and reinstall them, but it looks better the way that I have it. This system on all 928s is finicky, and you will likely have more headaches trying to get it to work consistently than it is worth.
3. The temp sensor button in the center of the dash is cracked. It operates fine, but it gets a lot of sun when the car is driven and they crack over time. It can be replaced, but it works great and I just have not gotten around to it.
I do not know what else to say. You would not be disappointed in this car! You can call my mechanic at THE SHOP at phone # 419-478-4600. Ask for Bob Popkovich and request his opinion on my car. I have absolutely nothing to hide. If you know Jeanie and Dave at 928 Specialist, call them to ask about what a freak I am about my car. I planned on keeping this car forever, so I put a lot of money that I know I will never get out into it. I need to sell my car for various reasons, but have had such a great experience with this one that I am sure another 928 will grace my garage soon. If you have any questions, would like pictures, or would like to discuss price, please call me at 614-419-2718 or e-mail me at sending address.

Thanks,

Patric J. Fransko

P.S. The car also comes with a 1986 dealer color brochure, a 1986 dealer salesmans pocket quick reference fact book on the 86 Porsche line, and an official Porsche Cetificate of Authenticity.
