Question Motormiester engine rebuilds - any good?

Has any one had an engine rebuilt by this California company? If so, please let me know if you would recommend them. I have a 1973 911T with the 2.4L MFI engine with a 5-speed. The car has 97800 original miles and has a couple of leaks and blows a bit of blue smoke now and then.

Default motormiester

I have had several motors done at Motormiester. They have built street and race motors for me and I have always been completely satisfied. They are not the fastest in the world but the end product is exceptional and reasonable compaired to others I have used.

Did you join just to post that ?

For every guy who has a good thing to say about MM, there are many more than ten who do not, on every Porsche forum I have ever been on.

Strange coincidence, Richard Saul 1 post in praise of Motormeister and Richard Solovich of Motormeister. Hmmmm. Must be a coincidence!

I really get aggravated when I have to justify pricing on high quality, Concours type engine restoration work against what some people see on the internet as the "market." I have given up trying to tell people what the difference is, now I just tell them to go ahead and use MM and scratch them off my customer list. My advice is to be an informed consumer and expect to get what you pay for.

We have had several MM engines come through here to be rebuilt and I must honestly say that I've been simply stunned by what I've seen.

Just flat-out flabbergasted how anyone could do such things like that.

All I can do to keep such unfortunate situations from recurring is by offering people the benefit of these experiences. Beyond that, Cole is right,........you get what you pay for.

Hi Marc,

FWIW,..I get two or three e-mails and a few phone calls a week concerning MM's services sol I consider this an on-going issue.

I too, wish it would go away, but I don't think it will until those gentlemen are no longer in business.
