I used to drive like a complete ******* up until I had kids. Then "reason" took over. good thing I didn't have a Porsche back then. A few mudercycles I owned became victims of my need4speed.

Happy & safe motoring

I have to hand it to the older guys on this forum. I'm only 18; so I don't have much wisdom from life experiences. However, reading your guy's posts has greatly changed the way I drive my car on a daily basis. I'm not claiming total repentance from driving fast and playing around once in a while. I just try to be wiser about the situations I put myself into. I've only been driving for about 2 years and I've already placed myself into too many close call situations. I guess I just want to say thanks to all the guys who take the time to write the posts with the sole intent of giving us younger guys advice and warning on how to drive.

I'm only 16. Right now I don't own a Porsche, but once I get my 944, sometime this summer, I'll take it to the track it least once before heading to college in two years. Can't go to PCA events because I'm not 18, but maybe SCCA or something else. I dunno. Just know that street racing, in general, is dumb and dangerous. My friends that do race go to the 'test and tune' night at the local drag strip to do it. Unfortuantely, being in a high school environment, I knwo plenty of people that race on the streets consistantly in their "fast" civics with no engine mods and 18" wheels that just slow them down.

Once I get my degree in engineering and land a good job, I'll get a new(er) 911 to drive daily, and pick up a (then) old 993 to race-tune for the tracks.

Ok, first off to the older gentilmen. Not all idoitic drivers on the road are teens. i have seen my share of older men trying to be cool or whatever they think they are doing. And second of all this hole thread is a big bitch sestion. I mean, get over it. You were a kid once and you did the same stupid things. Just because you let us younger folk (im 18 by the way) know the arours of our ways dosent mean that we wont go out and do stupid things. When your father or mother gave you the keys to the car did you ever go do something stupid?

No of course not. You were always this responsible. Personaly i agree with most of you guys. Yes street racing is a dumb practice. I personaly have been to a few street racing events that were carfully planed and prepared for. Not to say it wasent dangerious, but less so that your average street race.

I compeat in many driving events. I race down at Mission raceway in my 1991 Honda Prelude SR (its turbocharged). I beleave i am a very capable driver. I have taken many driving courses. I have the knowledge of how to properly drive a car. The majority of people who posted (im guessing) probably didnt take much if any kinf of driving course.

I ahve seen my shar of vary bad older folks driving. Not to say that all older people cant drive. Im just saying that it goes both ways. My father is a 16year old kid in a 47 year old mans body.

All im rilly trying to say is that its not just teens who drive like idiots. AND STOP BITCHIN ABOUT IT.

Thanks

Tim
