Buying out of state....need advice
buying another porsche that's 600 miles away.
Seller doesn't have title because he has a loan with Porsche Financial. He owes less than the sales price.
What is the best way to pay him? Can I pay Porsche Financial direct and would they send me the title, then I give the balance to the seller?
What is the best way to do this? wire transfer?
Can anyone recommend a good shipping company (enclosed transport) on the East Coast?
Too busy with work and family to fly out and drive the car home.
thank you,
G

I don't know the best way to do this transaction. Really and truly it prevented me from buying that particular car last summer.
An attorney friend recommended to make a check to Porsche Financial NOT to the seller(but I understand that he owes them less than the sales price). Some on RL recommended using an escrow company. Good luck with it.

I just went through this with my recent purchase. I had my bank send a check directly to Porsche Financial for the pay-off amount and then I had a seperate cashier's check made out to the seller for the remainder. Porsche Financial will the forward the title to me. Going through your bank should protect you in the transaction.
