It seems that we have to be a bit more careful in London? I used to ride bikes and one of my friends told me of a horror story when his bike got stolen. He had it at the back of the garage, behind a car with another car parked in front of the garage. Imagine his horror to find in the morning that his bike was gone, the car outside was moved and there were scrape marks across the roof of his other car!

Cheers,

David

I leave my Cab unlocked in garage (battery)...but I have hardwired doors and motion detector with a Big MF siren that wails. Whole house is hooked directly up to Fire and Police... but I'm not paranoid!

Hi Ricarddo,

Sadly the cars were worth something (Beemer and a Ford if memory serves me correctly) but the thieves were just after the bike.

Cheers,

David

Tucked away and covered in an enclosed but unlocked garage behind our house. Not much car security issue in our area. We do have a German Shepherd puppy-dog keeping an eye on things <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" /> A much better deterrent than security alarms.

Time was it was just parked in the garage, often with the keys still in the ignition.
Now the door is locked and the interior garage area is motion sensor monitored and connected to the home security system.

Funny how one little B/E changes your whole outlook on life, home and automotive security........

I have this parked in front of my garage. I am not sure if it scares theives or is just too hard to get the car past.

Well i had my 1994 Speedster stolen from my garage. They took my Harley Fat Boy at the sametime for good measure.

I was living in Santa Monica, they found the car the next morning, stripped and burned. They never found the bike. USAA paid what i thought was a fair settlement

When at home, it's in a one-car garage, with the keys upstairs on a hook. While at the office it sits within view (and yes, I do stare). I haven't tested it, but I imagine I could make it downstairs and outside pretty quickly if anyone came within stricking distance.

Strangely enough I went to where I keep my car and the door was unlocked. I have the only key and I know I locked it! Nothing at all is missing though (probably didn't feel like pushing a 914)
