Any one up for a drive in Santa Barbara?
A few of us from the Santa Barbara area thought it would be fun to put a drive together up in our neck of the woods. I am posting now to find out how many would be interested.
The drive would start in Santa Barbara and make its way over hwy 154 to the Santa Ynez Valley. Once in the valley we would drive a few choice back roads. We then could do a little wine tasting and/or possibly a tour of one of the local winery’s in the area. Lunch would be next followed by the drive back into SB or make the drive back to SB and then BBQ in the area.
All Porsche marques are welcome.
We are looking to put this drive together Saturday, Feb 8th.
Leave 9am sharp from SB, and should be back into SB by 2pm.
Those interested in making the drive please respond to this thread

That's a little beyond my planning horizon at the moment (anything past Christmas is! ), but it sounds like a lot of fun. Keep me on your list,

Hi Guys: The wife and I made a run to Solvang today up Hwy/154 in the SC and had a great day. We couldn't have picked a better day after the rains we've had.Theres was even a little snow on the mountains tops. Saw a couple of CHP too looking for prey.
We'll mark the Calender and hope to make it.
Theres a Run on New Years day down here if your interested. Log on to TRE Motorsports for the info or the Calif. Pelican Board.
Cheers and Merry Christmas

Ahh... Santa Barbara.... my hometown... SB Dons! I grew up as a teenager drag racing on "Ward Memorial Speedway". My buddy had a 1956 Chevy and I had a V8 Monza. When the CHP caught on to this, we went to Glenn Annie Road. Then later, I got a Sunbeam Tiger and raced my buddy in his VW Rabbit (complete with SuperVee cylinder head) at "Hope Ranch International Raceway". Then it was the "Old San Marcos Road Hillclimb".
All those great roads: San Marcos Pass, Mountain Drive, Stagecoach Road, The skidpad curve going up to City College, APS, ColdSprings Road, etc.
I was lucky not to kill myself, more importantly, not to kill any innocent motorists! You kids behave now...
Regards,
David

Dan,
Sounds great! I'd like to make the drive up the coast and join you for the day. Will you be posting specific directions? I'll need some since I don't know Santa Barbara well at all.
Lookin' forward to it.
