Model Education
I've always admired Porsche's from afar, but never really learned the details. (Probably because I never thought I would be able to afford one.) Now that I have my own I want to learn all there is to know. So I'm looking for 'net resources where I can learn about anything and everything Porsche.
After reading some of the posts here I know I run the risk of being flammed, but I'm willing to take that chance. I guess you are supposed to be a Porsche dictionary *before* you buy one... But I usually do things backwards anyway.
Thanks for any info,
/mike
P.S. I heard a rumor on Speed TV News that Porsche was considering getting (back??) into F1. Wouldn't that be the coolest!?!?

The Porsche website has some good info on the classics and the history of Porsche. Here's another web site with lots of info: Flat-6
Welcome to the world of Porsche!!! Don't forget to "flash" your lights in greeting when you come across another Porsche.

Not sure it would be that cool for Porsche to go back to formula 1. Remember their last effort? A bit of a failure, thats the last thing they need now considering all the money they have spent in developing that nasty looking Cayenne.

Thanks for the info Palting. flat-6.net seems to be down at the moment, but I'll keep checking it. I am working my way through porsche.com. I'll also keep an eye out for other Porsche drivers and try to remember to flash my lights. However, since I am in southern CA. I may have to set the light switch perminantly to "flash". :-)
Actually, I don't remember what happened last time Porsche was in F1. I'm new to the whole Porsche thing. I'm sure I'll read about it at their site though. I guess I just assumed that if they entered F1 again they would be competitive.

I doubt you'll read it at their site as it was years ago and not fun. I think the Excellence magazine had an article some time back on the whole deal.
For more info, join PCA to get the Panos club magazine and buy a subscription to Excellence. Both are loaded with info, vendors, articles, etc.
Porsches are like crack. You'll never get enough. And when you track your car and see what it's really made for, you'll be in Heaven.
Regards,
Jim
