Hey internet!
I've just taken a new position starting in a few weeks so I'm free until then. The Lady and I thought it would be fun to take a road trip from Santa Barbara (a little north of LA) up to visit some friends in the bay area, Portland, Seattle and Vancouver.
Anyone in coastal NorCal, Oregon, Washington or BC have any advice on cool drives that we should try to fit in? I think we'll be trying to spend quite a bit of the trip on the PCH where possible, but I'm sure there are some lesser known gems too.

Mm, perhaps the obvious, but I love the stretch of Route 1 from Half Moon Bay to the city (of San Francisco). You can check out everything from surfers in Pacifica to spectacular oceanside cliffs to rolling waves in Ocean Beach. Keep going through the Presidio to drive by the Golden Gate bridge and you may also see wind & kite surfers around Crissy field.
