After a series of delays, I've been informed that my 911 Turbo S now has a VIN. I would like to follow its progress from Zuffenhausen to delivery in Long Beach. I'd just like to know its path, and perhaps, identify its progress. The threads that I've come across seem to be obsolescent, so perhaps some other obsessive-compulsive has trodden this path in recent days and can enlighten me. I have received announcements from my car salesman about order number, production number and paint production status (special order, midnight blue). Now that I have a VIN, does it get trucked or trained to a port? Which one? How do I learn the ship?

Your salesman can get the name of the vessel it will be loaded onto, and there are webistes that will track the vessel. They usually show the vessel from the German port till it gets just past England, and again when it gets close to the US coast.
