Default Nurburgring and Porsche Museum

My wife and I decided to vacation in Germany/Austria this summer. The most important part of our trip was my "rent a race car" at the Nurburgring and our stop over in Stuttgart to see the Porsche Museum.

I am currently sitting in our hotel in Vienna bored so I figure I will share my pictures so far.

Driving to our hotel in Cologne I spotted this GT2

first sign for the Nurburgring!

getting closer!

spotted a race car at the gas station haha

made it!

Walked through the Ring Werk museum and took some snaps of the cars. here are a couple...

this sucker was in the gift shop of all places!

now its time for me to get my race car!
so many choices!! which one will I choose??

I choose...

have to since its my first time :P

Ok, so we follow the owner to the track so that he can take us in a van on the instruction lap. *pretty sure this guy could beat me in his VW van with me driving the gt3 lol*

some of the sights

and finally my car!

130hp suzuki swift!

Now we get in the van and go around the track *rather briskly... haha* Tried to get a couple shots but they didn't turn out well. go figure.

So, I get 4 laps. Ran my first 2, took a break then ran my 3rd and took a lap time on my phone of 11:13.78. Not super accurate but not too bad I guess. I was passing the other guys, but I wanted to do better, so I really focused on my final lap. I ended up with a time of 10:30.12! hows that for a first timer in a suzuki swift :P When I get home I am going to try it on the xbox and see what I get... hehe

oh and on my way back to Cologne in my e200 coupe rental car I hit 248km/h on the autobahn!! was a bit scared to take a pic going that fast so I slowed up a bit.

Well, we do some more touristy stuff, then we head to Garmisch. On our way we stop in Stuttgart to go through the Porsche museum. Here are a couple shots I took.

So I opened the door on this next car and got yelled at... haha oops :P

I have a bunch more, so if you want pm me your email an I can invite you to see my album.

Anyway we are here for another couple of days. Going to sight see in Vienna and then head over to Berlin for a couple days.

While we were in Garmisch we went to a couple castle and saw this beautiful blue lake. Here are a couple shots.

here is our rental car... We got lucky and our tour guide paid for the upgrade since they were out of automatics *wife cannot drive a stick*

I will definitely be back to the Nurburgring for round 2 in a year or so I have been bitten by the bug. I would love to do this at Sebring since I live in SW FL. Gotta buy me a track day car!

Great pics I did the same trip with my friends in June 25th and it was great .
There was a big E30 M3 meeting and we drove all the way from Turkey to Nurburgring to join the meeting.
I also rented the suziki swift stage 3 race car and it was fun to drive
Nurburgring is definately a great place to race and meet enthusiasts around the world.
I will go back again

very cool. Did you use the same company as me? Great people and decent price. I really want to use that GT3 next time .

I used tthe company Rent4ring. They are in Adenau . Next to the other entrance of Nurburgring.
Ralph works there and he is a good friend of mine. If you go there again. Tell him that you are a friend of the Turkish guys and ask for discount

They currently have Suzuki swift's . Just pick up a stage 3 and you will be happy with it .
900 kg and 150 hp. It handles pretty damn good with the semi slicks

It doesn't get much better than Germany, Porsche and the Nurburgring.

Ring werk is ok. Its like a big shop for buying small gifts. But there are also nice things to see inside.
There is a car museum inside with some entartainment stuff.
And there is a big tv inside. I was luck enough to watch a world cup game there

I liked Ring Werk a lot. I really wanted to sit there and play ps3 but all the kids took them :P.

They had a ton of cars and some nice exhibits. I've got a free ticket for next year... Guess they were running a promotion.
