Question Need garage lift advice...

Hi there;

I'm shopping for a lift. The problem is that my garage ceiling is low - as in near 7' tall with a garage door that's even shorter.

I remember reading about a power lift that only raises a car enough to get under with a creeper, or whatever they call those skateboard like things.

From what I remember, they were electric and had ramps. You'd drive your car on, turn it on, and it would lift the car somewhere around 2', and lock safely into place.

Is this a delusion? What do you call that type of lift? Any links or recommendations? Thanks in advance...

With limited height like you have, you're relegated to using a short or mid rise lift.
Challenger makes a 6,000lb model (MR-6).
NAPA handles Challenger & you may want to contact Tunnessen's in Hazleton for a price.

I have a mid-rise scissors lift and use it all the time; 6,000lb bendpac.

MaxJax was not around when I need one. If I was getting one now, I'd get the Max over the scissors jack.

IIRC, Rennlist member Wachuko (Jaime) bought a MaxJax and posted some pics and comments.
