Difference between USA and Euro 996?

What does the Porsche factory do to the USA production cars to make them different than the rest-of-the-world cars?
Asked differently, what would a German need to change on a USA 996 exported back to Germany?
For example, I have heard that the struts and springs are taller on the USA models to meet USA bumper requirements. Also, I am aware that Euro 996's have some issue with them lowering their value in the USA, and making them suitable primarily as track cars, rather than street cars, but I don't know exactly what this issue is.
Thanks in advance for any insight.
