Depending on when you're going, I'd recommend something from the Porsche Travel Club or the PCA Treffen. PTC has more dates, but no access inside Zuffenhausen or Weissach -- so far as I know. The Treffen includes a factory tour and Weissach hot laps. I did the Treffen last year and had a great time. The guys who worked for Porsche spoke highly of the PTC's Black Forest tour. Unless you're scheduled wayyyy in advance, it's hard to get into the factory English speaking tour on your own. Here are some links:

On your way from France to Stuttgart you should definately stop at Mulhouse and visit the National French Automobile Museum (Schlumpf Collection). It is sensational, and the story behind it worthy of a Hollywood movie. http://www.collection-schlumpf.com/en/schlumpf/
also in the same town there is the National Railway Museum, and lots of excellent food. Alsace is one of the foodiest places in the world, with sensational wine too. http://www.citedutrain.com/en/train/
From there you can go throught the Black Forest or up to Strassbourg and along the wine trail before popping over to Stuttgart.
