Default Advise on Selling '98 Porsche 993 C4S Black/Black 10,000 miles

I have a '98 black/black C4S that I'm considering selling. It as 10,000 miles, upgraded power seating/leather, RSR mufflers, $1,300 of Rennline add ons, clear front side indicators, and Turbo S air ducts, just serviced, brand new Michelin tires on just refinished wheels (3-part powder coating process that is same finish as the BMW E39 M5s (blackish chrome). The car is perfect.

The question I have is I'm trying to get a good sense of value. NADA, KBB are a waste for this car (and in general too) as they understate the true value (I believe). This was the last year of the air-cooled (and I think a stub production volume?). I saw one similar at RPM Motors asking low 70s, but have seen them priced all over the place.

Can I tap into all your collective wisdom on these things and run an informal poll?

Thanks in advance,

Andrew Burns

Andrew,
You'll get alot more responses if you post this in the 993 forum.

As far as prices go..... High end dealers like RPM, Premier and the others are always much higher than what a private party will get for their 993. If you want a really quick sale, these Dealers will probably give you a good price for your car and then add 10 grand or so to it and re-sell it. Low mileage 993s are demanding top dollar these days, but 70,000 will buy a nice 993 TT. Just depends on someone out there that is looking for what you have and is willing to pay for it.
List high.....you can always come down. If it sells right away, you'll think you sold it too cheap!

I would also review the latest valuations from Excellence magazine and perhaps PML (Porsche Market Letter).

Yeap, throw away the KBB and all the other crapola value guides. your C4S should command top dollar and not a penny below 60K. You have a very desirable, rare C4S, with a desirable color combo, last year of production and 10K miles... At RPM this car would command over 70K. Compare with these sites and price accordingly depending on how quick of a sale you want to have:
