has anyone sold or purchased an open trailex trailer? i would greatly appreciate any information anybody has about the resale value of a used trailex. my tailex car hauler got damaged in an accident. the insurance company is struggling to come up with a value to determine whether it is totaled or not. i have searched ebay truck trader etc and am not finding any comparable sales information. it is made of aluminum and has only been used about 12 times over the past 6 years. it is hard for me to believe it has lost over half of its value while the purchase price of a new trailer in the same period of time has increased $2000.

You can find pricing information for these frequently in the PCA Mart (online) or Classifieds in Panorama magazine (print).

In general, aluminum trailers do NOT lose their value like a steel trailer.

I've never seen a Trailex sell for half of its original price. Yes, aluminum prices have gone up recently (due to energy/electricity costs), so the replacement cost will be higher.
