Default Car Events in L.A. July 8 or 9

Does anyone know if there are any car events in the So Cal area this next weekend. Like Porsche, foreign, antique, classic???

I am from Atlanta and will be in town for business, and it looks like I have to stay over the weekend. Any suggestions for car events, shows, good parts places to visit.

If not, is Santa Anita horse race track running now?

Every Sunday morning, people gather at Crystal Cove -- a shopping mall near Newport Beach -- in Orange County to show off exotic cars. They are done by something like 9am (I'd do a search to find the details).

Thanks. A few people from the 993 area gave me info on Crystal Cove. Another one mentioned a 356 thing at Dana Point this weekend also.

here is what I got from solo2.com forum for July 8th Porsche club event at Hollywood Park (very close to LAX), you can do some gambling afterward (it is in a Casino parking lot).

Here is the info and how to register.

30 OR MORE spots will be open to CSCC or SCCA club members.

Saturday July 8th is the Orange Coast Regions 6TH Newport Auto Center - Driving Event Series Auto-X , “Carving the Cones at the Hollywood Park". We expect about 65 cars.

You will get about 14+ runs!

if you are on the east side of the town, you might want to go to California Speedway. There are 3 events going on. one is solo 2 championship event on Sunday, and practice on Saturday.

the other is Richard Petty Driving Experience, not really for P-car fan, but if you are Nascar fan !!

I believe there is also a Karting event.

Thanks for all of the information.

I think I am going to try Crystal Cove Saturday morning and Dana Point Sunday.

If all else fails, a casino sounds good too.

Not much of a NASCAR fan. Sorry, I wasn't raised that way. SEC Football fan, yes!
