Default Best way to wash car in Winter?

I'm dying to wash my P-car but I'm not about to take it to a car wash for fear of scratching the rims. If I had a 2 car garage I'd wash it inside, but I don't. My apartment complex has turned off the outside water spickot until Spring. Any good ideas for how to wash the car in the Winter??

Also, any safe (hand washing) car washes in the Northern VA area?

Thanks,
Mark

Go to coin operated hand wash. then take the car home in your garage and with warm water use a chamois to detail it . Use plenty of water on the chamois to avoid scratching the paint.

I always take my 88 Carrera to a nearby car wash that has a spot free rinse. I take my own water (usually a gallon) and car soap because some places don't want you to use their water to hand wash. I hand wash and then rinse with their spot free water. I then towel off the car with 100% cotton terry cloth towels. When I get home, I re-wipe the car as some water flies out of cavities on the drive home. If it's been a couple of month's since I polished or waxed it, i give it a coat of wax.
