Default BMW 635CSi........questions about owning..........

I have owned BMWs most of my driving life (a long one) but have always had a yearning for a Porsche. I like the 964 and the 993 models in the coupe style. Not convertible, not targa, not slantnose. I just like (my wife says love)the classic coupe shape. I believe great cars are for driving so I drive my 635 every day and still enjoy it but would love to do the same with a 911. I have a couple of basic questions.
(1) For 20-30K can I fit into a 993 or should I stay with a lower mileage 964?
(2) Annual maintenance costs ? (ballpark) Gas mileage (dare I ask)?
(3) I have 2 books on the 964 & 993 on order from Peter Morgan and have visited the Rennlist site but are there any other "must visit" sites that will help me out?

Thanks in advance for any/all replys.

I would tell you to test drive several of each, and see what fits. A Pre Purchase Inspection is a must, as annual maintenance is largely dependant on condition. A poor Porsche will make a strong man cry, so buy carefully, and hold a little in reserve for the unexpected. Your 635 is a fine driving machine. Owning a Porsche will not diminish your enjoyment of it. Good luck.
