Question 1977 930-02 History search

After owning this car(1977 Euro 3.0 Carrera) for two years I was able to track the car history back four owners, all in Massachusetts. I bought a new computer and was transfering all my pictures. When I opened my Porsche picture folder, I noticed a shot of the VIN plate located near the drivers side door catch. To my shock I was able to read the name and address of the importer. A private individual who is a retired college professor. A further search revealed she was living in Florida and is 77 years old. I'm trying to trace the European history of the car. Since the car was Federalized and I know the name and address of the 'importer', can anyone enlighten me as to how I would go about getting access to the Federal papers on the car, as they should be public record. I assume they should reflect the previous European owner, unless she bought the car new, while doing research or teaching in Europe.

Thanks,

A call to your local Porsche Centre, giving them the VIN (and a cheque!) should release the original selling dealer in Europe.
