Default Electric Buffer

I recently got one of those electric buffers as a gift. It seems like it would make waxing the car easier. Can anyone offer any tips on using one of these? It seems to spin awfully fast so I'm sure there must be some do's & don'ts...

If it's a random orbital, then you have little to fear, as they are safe.
If it is a circular, you can quickly burn thru the paint. These are normally used by professionals.
I've used a Porter Cable 7136 6" random orbital with supplies from Griots. Very happy with the results from clay to polish to wax....although I still hand wax.
You can order their car care book if you like:http://www.griotsgarage.com/handbook.jsp

I did not have access to Porter Cable products. But the Bosch orbital sander doubles as a fine polisher machine. All you need is a soft base plate with foam pads... the denser foam is better IMO.

Mine didn't work worth a darn. Ended up going back to hand polishing. Then I found out you need to plug it in.
