I'm sitting here with the last 911 and Porsche World (Good article about John Speake and his replacement MAF's for 928's btw), and a full page ad form Gemballa offering a 700hp/1200Nm engine conversion for the Cayenne Turbo and a 440hp/550Nm engine conversion for the S.
There are pictures of the Cayenne "turbo" and "S" engines sitting on the front subframe with front suspension in the ads and I don't think they look higher than the 928 engine, in fact the manifold seems to be lower, not much higher than the heads. I believe the engine looks higher in the Cayenne because it is sitting on top of the front differential. It may very well be lower than the 928 engine as far as I can tell. I would be surprised if the "S" engine could not be made to fit and I guess John could even find a way to reroute the exhaust so the "turbo" engine could slot in also
