Question Five year resale-2024 992.1 versus 2025 992.2

Does anyone want to hazard a guess whether the 2024 992.1 C4S or the new 2025 992.2 GTS will be more valuable about five years from now? The last of the ICE cars versus new technology?

Hybrid battery will be a drag on values, compared to not having a battery. Whether the battery drag is enough to offset future value increase remains to be seen.

I think the GTS is still going to hold the better value. The 992.1 manual GTS will probably hold it's value over the 992.2 GTS.

BTW, the 992.1 C4S isn't the last of the ICE vehicles.

Discussions like this are more entertaining than the daily comics.

agree 100%. The question calls for pure speculation regarding a future outcome dependent on too many variables to draw any conclusive consensus.
Pick the model that appeals to you drive the hell out of it and stop thinking about what it is worth in the future to the next owner. The value of a Porsche 911 is entertainment / enjoyment value. I drive mine daily, use it for all my basic transportation, take care of it in an effort to get the most pleasurable use out of it, and avoid worrying about what it might be worth if or when I sell it. With so many Porsche owners worried about resale value, I question if some of them are even driving and enjoying the cars.

Hey guys relax. This was a hypothetical question. It wasn't about which 911 model, resale value, or options. I was looking for fellow 911 owners and their thoughts on the 992.1 versus the 992.2 in years to come. Do you think Porsche lovers will want the ICE or hybrid technologies? It's just your gut feeling. Thanks.

I think car lovers will love the latest and greatest technology. Do Porsche lovers love N/A cars vs Turbo cars? Evidently they love both. Do Porsche lovers love MT vs PDK. It think the evidence is they love both. I guess my point is if you are a Porsche enthusiast you love what each has to offer. Is there a Porsche lover that would be dissatisfied with GT2RS vs a GT3RS? Hybrid technology vs straight ICE technology? If you think the best Porsche is a GT3RS or a 918 Spyder? It all boils down to what you can afford, what appeals to you and inevitably every Porsche of today will be obsolete at some point in the future. Even a Fort Model T has collector value and every vehicle if old enough or rare enough will have some collectible market. Manual transmissions are actually obsolete but many prefer them. Unfortunately at some point in the future there will be few buyers still alive who know how to drive them which won't help keep the price up. We can see how nostalgia for air cooled MT 911's has fueled a market but that market is definitely cooling as the old school Porsche enthusiasts die off. My point earlier is the speculation on what will hold value is futile and a car as an investment based on that is also. My opinion is that most threads like this are driven by the need to reassure oneself that the car they own is better than the newest and latest version they don't own, until they win the lotto and suddenly the 918 hybrid technology becomes better to the same guy who hated hybrids.

2024 992.1 versus 2025 992.2

I say who cares?

If you are worried about the price, you are not a Porsche guy.

The biggest question is who is willing to be the $220k+ guinea pig on a 1.0 technology. I'm sure they will work it out over time, but I always advised my kids to stay away from any 1.0 tech.

I could spend $220,000 cash for what you thinks is 1.0 technology. Also, the 2005 Porsche GT Carrera is 0.50% of technology and 100% of go-fast. You smart technology guys are looking at $1.1M in cash money to buy one.

Nope. I'd choose the one without the battery BS. IMO it will appreciate faster and be more enjoyable to drive.
