Great to see these cars driven! Are your "friends" at Porsche going to restore at 1M miles at their expense, or are you planning on covering those costs?

Default Maintenance?

Great story but curious if what other maintenance, other than oil changes, may have been required in 21 years!

I have a 2002 C4S, and while not the same engine, I love the car. Same suspension and agility. It is the right size, also. Not too big. Not to small. My mechanic says ( a big fan of the 996 series) that it really is the last of the analogish 911's. I am also the owner of a '88 911 so on both sides of the "headlight" BS. It is so sad to report that my very own Porsche fan cohorts, trash this car simply because of the headlights. I never thought that people would tell me to my face that my car sucks because of it. It is unreal and - man - so elitist and full of entitlement. I have been a PCA member for ages. But now that I have experienced this ridiculous arrogance and disdain, I am done. I thought that PCA was "about the people" Not really. If you can score a 996 C4S do it, highly recommend. It is basically the Turbo without the Metzger engine with 100 more HP. Everything else is the same. And - lastly -about $10 to $15 grand cheaper.

Would definitely like to read some more about this and what as been done to the car maintenance wise. Either way, 700k+ miles is really cool to see.
