Georgia temporary plate
Hi there, need some help please :-) I bought a Cayenne in Atlanta, private sale, the owner does not want to leave the plates on the car for me to drive it to Canada. I don't have dealer plates and putting the plates from one of my cars is most likely illegal. Driving without any plates is probably illegal too. Is there an option to obtain a temporary permit to allow me to drive the car for a couple of days? many thanks

Yep, contact GA DMV.
If you were only in GA, you would just sharpie a piece of carboard and leave it there forever. Works on Altimas in GA apparently.

I bought my 991 from a dealer in GA, but before I flew down there to take delivery, I wanted the car PPF'd. The dealer (not a Porsche dealer) agreed to bring the car over to my chosen installer for me. About 40 minutes away. For personnel reasons, they couldn't get over there to retrieve it before I flew down to get the car. So I offered to just go right from the airport to the PPF installer, get the car, and drive it back over to the dealer to finish the transaction. They agreed.
Long story short, I drove this 911 40 minutes across the outskirts of Atlanta with NO plates on it, and nobody seemed to care. Not even the Georgia State Patrol trooper that ended up sitting behind me at a red light.
Now, could you make it all the way to Canada? Probably not
