Hi Edgy01 and welcome! I’ve added you as license #136. I’ll send an invitation to the private discussion group which will appear in your private messages. Feel free to join, and scroll through the 4 pages of posts already going. If you don’t find the topic you’re interested in discussing, feel free to start a new one!

Default I'm OldDog56 in the DC 'burbs

Hey Seniors,
Been driving Porsches on & off since the '70's in San Diego and now live in the DC suburbs. Started with a thrasher 1970 911T, on to an '84 928S, a '95 911 Cab (993 type new from dealer), 2002 911 Cabriolet and now running a 2022 Panamera. Briefly had a 944s Cabriolet but NMCOT. Also into Cars & Coffee events (Katies in Great Falls, VA!) and run a '56 Jag XK-140 DHC and a '65 Morgan Plus 4 2+2 'Tourer' too. Best to All! AKA Ted

What a GREAT FIRST POST!! Thanks for choosing this group to say hello!

I’ve added you as license #137. I tried to send you an invitation to the private discussion group but I believe you don’t have enough posts. If you decide to become more active, I’ll be able to invite you (it would show up as a private message, but I believe you need at least 4-5 posts before you can receive private messages).
The private group is optional. We’ve got 4 pages of discussions (so far) on various topics, and one advantage is that each thread is a specific topic (rather than having to wade through this huge thread to “discuss’ something.)

Default Will you have me as a member?

I have owned 7 BMWs (all 5 series 6spd until they were no longer available then X5s) and an E63 Merc. Many of those cars were stupid fast but none was a 911. I never bought a 911 because of kids in school, needing to present myself to clients as a rational, conservative risk advisor, life responsibilities, etc.

It took the untimely passing of somebody close to me in June 2016 to make me realize that life was short and that I had waited too long and I ordered my 991.2 C4S manual in August 2016. It puts a smile on my face every time I drive it.

If you will have me as a member, I would like to join. I am 1958 vintage.

Please send me a private message if I am accepted as a member of your group.

PS - I have been waiting for an allocation for my second.

Hi all!, I’ll take the next number, just let me know what it is. ( 139? )
I’m 72, and have a lifetime of sports car ownership. First was an Austin Healy Sprite, followed by a Healy 3000, then a Triumph GT6+. You’d think a guy would learn, but followed those with a Jaguar. Then graduated to a series of BMWs. My first P car was a base Macan, about 18 months ago, showed me what I’ve been missing! I have a new ‘25 992.2 sitting at the port lot in Freeport, TX, awaiting transport to my dealer. Hope it’s soon!
I live in NW Arkansas, and should be able to drive over to Palooza. Looking forward to meeting some of you. Rusty

Hi Rusty, you are license #139. Welcome to the group! I’ll send an invitation for the private discussion group which will land in your private messages (unless you’ve already added yourself to the group).

Cheers!

#003 here with an update on Palooza.....

Just a little over a month away and registration opens this coming Saturday Oct. 5

This year will be the 20th Anniversary of Palooza!

Last year almost 600 people and 380 Porsches took over the historic town of Eureka Springs AR.
Absolutely some of the best driving roads in the country at the most beautiful time of the year.

Several great driving tours daily.

Main hotel is completely sold out but lots of other accommodations available since Eureka Springs is a year round tourist destination.

Welcome! You have license #140. I’ve invited you to the private discussion group. Look for the invitation in your private messages.

To find the social group, go back one page in this thread to page 29, and look at the step by step instructions in post #421. Feel free to PM with questions.

Love the statement on your profile: “I have wrenches and am not afraid to use them”!

Know how you feel, along with a few others here. Next year will mark 60 years of “madness”! 1965 356SC was the first (see above).

I have posted somewhere along the road that children have been born & raised, roommates come & gone, businesses opened & closed, but the single constant through it all has been Porsche. And to this day, I grin every time I turn the key.
