Auto Insurance rates up
I’m not sure if this the right place for this and I’m aware that rates are supposed to go up 11% but mine just went up100% , I would really hate to find out what would happen if I get a speeding ticket.
Question for those in California, Any recommendations for a decent coverage at a decent rate?

Hey I moved this to Porsche General discussion for wider visibility...
Lots of Insurance threads on RL...just do an advanced search on Insurance
Yes, rates have gone up nationwide -- not by 100% though

I have Porsche Auto Insurance. The first few years the rates didn't increase at all but this year they went up 10%. Still a decent deal for everything they offer. I expect that all my other car insurance through Allstate will also see a increase this year.

I got a 16-yr old in driver's ed right now. My agent warned me when she gets her license my rate will double...luckily only on the vehicle she'll be authorized to drive.
Interestingly my 991.1 is cheaper to insure than my wife's Honda Civic Type R FK8 gen.

I think the gist of this thread is to try to get agreed value insurance, through Porsche Auto Insurance, if possible, otherwise try Mile Auto. GEICO and Progressive are actual cash value carriers who aren't going to pay out for a proper repair of a Porsche: they will say that the car is worth 50% of it's real actual value, based on their analysis of "actual cash value", which is done by someone under their employment.
