Default Stargard

I posted this in the General Discussion forum, but am not getting much response. What do you think?

My dealer wants to charge me $1,295 for Stargard. There seems to be a fair amount of privacy and other concerns about this product. What say you?

As long as you’re fine with them knowing every location and speed you drive then get it. I didn’t have a choice but to get it when I ordered my 992. It came in handy when a shop had the car for ppf install. There’s a setting to notify you if it moves. It never went more than 30ft from the garage. Had I had the option I wouldn’t have gotten it though

You can do that through the MyPorsche app.

There are some serious problems with Stargard. I park in an underground garage at my condo and my 2021 911 would not unlock when I went near the car in the garage. It worked fine all other times. The Porsche mechanic said that in the past that a similar problem happened and said that Stargard ramps up its power to always get a signal. The key fob is on the frequency range so the stargard over powers the fob in some cases thus the car will not unlock. One other thing to consider is if someone steals your car do you really want it back or get a new one???? Others have put a small cheap transmitter in the car that is used to keep track of items and much cheaper and does the same thing.

Dealer tried to tell me they don’t sell cars without it. I told him it either comes off or we don’t have a deal. Tried the same b/s with PPF.
