the 911,000.
everything is turned up to 11.
wheels are CF and then painted to look like normal fuchs.
Tuthill is so into the details. reminds me of how G. Murray approaches his projects.
So anyone here that think they are the 'purist' and support the S/T is going to buy this even lighter car?
Thought so.
To me the Tuthill failed, it's a restomod, that means the car can go farther. I think it should have gone to a F1 style steering wheel mounted clutch pedal with sequential gearbox and pedal shift. I mean, if something is light enough for F1, it's light enough for me.

I've heard a lot of bad takes on rennlist over the years, but this one might take the cake.
And this will cost more than an S/T, much more, even after the ADM is factored in.
Ive been in this car, now twice over two years at Laguna Seca...it is absolutely and BEYOND thrilling, and I got out each time with full laughing fits and needed to change my boxers. Im obv a Singer guy, but Richard and Phi's 911k has an ethos and vibe thats totally different, and BEAUTIFUL for it. The price is pretty much at the same as a Singer Classic would be today and definitely 100 percent about driver experience vs finishings, but WOW doesn't even begin to cover it. Brilliant machinery.

Completely misses the ethos of the car, and in spectacular fashion too.
The K is about losing weight, but importantly, doing so whilst maintaining all the traditional traits of the classic, longhood 911 driving experience, including the manual shifter.
There is no “technology for technology’s sake” engineered into the car, specifically because it would detract from the pure 911 driving experience. Quite how one comes to the conclusion that that equals a “fail” is bemusing and confusing in equal measures.
And any comparison with the 992 ST or its likely buyer demographic is quite frankly, extremely tenuous.

Looking at the cam towers, at first glance it seems to be a cam-on-bucket design which somewhat limits usable lift and duration at high rpm.
That would explain the 112hp/L output, a 00s sportscar level.
A 102x63.5mm engine at 11000 rpm with suitable cams should make 380hp minimum.
Or perhaps the finger followers/rockers are mounted directly to the bespoke cylinder head and the output is kept low for heat management and low-rpm torque.
Crankshaft.
Short stroke billet crankshaft, nothing notably special about this one. Counterweights are bullnosed not knife-edged. Factory GT3 cranks are neither.
Crankcase.
An intriguing sheen on the case. Perhaps a Noonan billet case or something proprietary to Tuthill?

They’re billet cases, I understood they were machined in house by SP. But there’s every chance they could be Noonan’s

for me, it's anything but a fail. 'restomod' is something we slap on things way too often now. this doesn't feel like an 'ordinary' restomod to me and the end product is certainly just as valid as a Singer. this thing has to be tremendously agile and responsive - the thin front tires really stood out to me in the video and suggest the weight and how a large contact patch is not necessary to keep the front end planted. i'm not sure anything from Tuthill could be considered a fail, honestly.
