Default Porsche OEM license plate frame

So I ordered this OEM plate holder online. Went to install it. The instructions said to use the 4 black spacer things. This would seem to create a gap between the black backing plate and the frame. I guess I don't see the point? Why not just have the plate rest against the backing plate?

On a side note I initially liked the Porsche logo, but now thinking perhaps slimline frame instead as I didn't think about it covering part of the plate. Then I thought also whats the point of a frame at all??. And wound up with sneaky case of analysis paralysis and questioning what I'm doing with my life 🤪

I think the frame, if you use one, should say something other than just Porsche. Maybe your favorite sports team or something related to your hobby. Or get the one that says Porsche Sport Driving School. Lol.

My guess on the spacer is they are to prevent chatter of plate and frame to the backing when you roll over imperfections in the road etc

Thanks. Think I'm might return the frame now. Was going to go with a specialized plate and the Porsche logo blocks the bottom writing.

Ahh yeah that makes sense. Though haven't noticed any chatter personally.

Curious what y'all running. Frame or no-frame?

Black or Chrome or those sparkly diamond girly frames. Be honest 🤣🤣
