Default Porsche Online Survey - when should the 911 go electric

I received a link from Porsche today and completed a detailed online survey about the future of the 911. Almost every question regarded the transition to electric as basically a given. The survey included info that made me feel this was as much a "push poll" as it was to gather opinions. For example stating that many cities plan on or already have restrictions on ICE vehicles in their centers, rising taxes on gasoline, etc. It seems also that they understand that the sound and smaller dimensions of ICE vehicles vs EVs could be a major stumbling block to adoption. I told them they would need to increase range to 450 miles, reduce charging time to ten minutes, and make the cars handle and sound much like or better than current ICE to make me a buyer. One question asked "When do you recommend that Porsche should electrify the 911?" Options ranged from 2025 to 2035, and never" Overall it was a good poll from a structural point of view because it appeared to ask specific questions based on my previous answers and also double checked my responses with rephrased questions. One of the last questions was if I would be willing to have an interview with a real person on the subject and I agreed. Has anyone else received the invite and responded yet?

I don't see 911's going all electric until they can figure out how to make an ultra lightweight battery. Every EV (even the Taycan) is a porker.

What I can see is a mild hybrid in a 911, all depends on weight.

I filled out the survey. Having driven all Model S and 3 performance models, i realized that weight is the enemy of electric cars. I voted for ICE, but if Porsche is forced to go electric, I will gladly sacrifice range for weight loss.

Good survey indeed. Definitely feels like a turning point (and not all great for what we like in 911s), but I tried to provide thoughts on ways to maintain ICE 911s for at least some time, and make electrics better.
However, I did not get the last question around the interview with a real person - wonder if it's based on demographics or previous answers...

When solid state batteries are commercially viable..thats when porsche should go full electric.
Until then, no. These 100kwh batteries are so damn heavy right now and if you read about the entire start to finish production of these batteries, they are not all that ethical or "green" like people claim.

Right, that's the part that makes me sad + in most countries, electric production is not that clean or environmentally-friendly (including renewables that destroy landscapes!) and definitely not ready to supply everyone's electric car needs. Would be great if people on both sides were more objective...

Check out this video. I agree that we should protect the planet but I don't know if using current lithium ion tech is what's going to do it...

Why can't they just leave the 911 as an ICE car in their lineup for hobbyists, and go all-electric with every other model. Jeez.
