Default Replacement key

Hello fellow members. Just purchased a 2015 991.1 GT3 and it only came with one key. I'm looking for advice on obtaining a second one. I came across this site 2015 Porsche 911 Key Fob - Remotes and Transponder Keys (keylessentryremotefob.com)
Thanks in advance for the help. Regards Thomas

I recently bought myself a Cayenne, and in my search, one that I was looking at only had one key with it. After some research I came to the conclusion that the easiest path was going to be to go to the dealer and get the key there. It seems like you have to go to the dealer to get everything coded/paired, so in my mind I was preparing to pay the for the whole job. It seems that to me people have had mixed results with aftermarket fobs.

Ultimately I ended up buying from the dealer, and the one I got came with two keys, so I dint have to follow through.

Order a key from Porsche dealer parts dept. they’ll want a copy of your registration and VIN number. They’ll order the key for your specific car VIN, then when it comes in, it will need to be programmed in PIWIS with your vehicle (and the other key).

Fully agree. I did this 3 months ago. Went without a glitch, and obviated much web-searching to find the best deal.

PS,
Car is a 2002 C4 Cab, not my avatar.
