Question Best Cell Phone Mount?

Hey Rennlist,

I've been doing a bunch of research on the most sturdy cell phone mount, and I'm curious to see what everyone is using. I want something that isn't going to fall of at the race track, as I'll be using it to hold my phone so I can see Harry's Lap Timer. Based on everything I've read, the Ram X-Grip - Twist Lock is the way to go. I know a few people with Rennline one and they say it falls off on spirited driving, so that for sure wouldn't work on the track. Let me know your suggestions!

Thanks!
- Scott

Just ordered the Rennline one for the new car. The Ram X-Grip was on the list but im not a fan of suction cups. Especially in warmer weather as the seal/suction seems to pell off under direct prolonged sunlight.

Do you plan on tracking the car?

We have a range of phone mounts specifically designed for Porsche cars. We have mechanical, magnetic and magnetic charging mounts. A lot of people use our Universal phone mounts for Harry's lap timer.

Our magnetic mounts are designed for spirited road driving. Unlike competition we use proprietary technology and biggest magnets to provide best hold even for huge modern phones

I purchased this from Pelican parts. For my 996 Cab it was the best solution. I didn't like the mounts attached to AC vents. They wobbled around too much. This mount is magnetic but it works great. This was easy to install and for me that is saying something since I can screw up the simplest jobs. Here is the parts name as it appears on the Pelican parts website:

Porsche Rennline ExactFit Magnetic Phone Mount, Porsche 986/996

Best,
Mark

+1 for Rennline. I like the minimalism of magnetic phone mounts.

Do you make these for the 996? I don't see this model listed on your site.

Don't have much to add other then personally I prefer the magnetic type of holders. You put a slim piece of metal between your phone and the cover and the vent magnet is pretty small.

Exact ones I have:
