To say the 989 was a bit ahead of its time is somewhat of an understatement.

saw the real version at the peterson at the 70th show, it really spoke to a company looking forward, despite what many think about the 996 it took elements from the 993 and "modernized" them in 90's terms, I was impressed by it.
