Default Which Porsche to Buy?!?

I got rid of my 997 Turbo late 2018 to get a RS7 thinking I needed a 4 door since we were having a baby. 6 months after having the baby, we've never taken the RS7 anywhere, always my wife's car.

I want to get back in a fun car because I just took a new job and I don't need to commute to an office anymore (work from home) so my "daily driver" is going to be maybe 2-3000 miles a year and I want each drive to be fun. Both the 997 Turbo and RS7 have stupid amounts of power and torque (500ish for the Turbo, 600+ for RS7) which I like, but I can never fully utilize that power on a public road without the likelihood of me going to jail.

Fun to me is not saying I have X amount of power, but being able to truly utilize it on the road and I want to start getting involved in taking my car on the track here and there. I want to take it for a early morning drive on the weekends in the back roads and enjoy the twist/turns and it having the power to still thrill me when I hit a straight away.

My "budget" is all over the place. My plan is to enjoy the car for 2-3 years and then sell it when we are ready to buy another house. I've test driven a GT4 ($90K range) and a 991.1 GT3 ($130K range) and didn't really get a good sense from a handling perspective due to such a short test drive and no true windy roads. From a power perspective, they were both "meh". I know a 991.1 Turbo would probably do the job, but is it going to be engaging enough?

What do you guys think? Any other models I should look into perhaps not-Porsche?

If your budget is around a $130K and you are restricting your search to Porsches, you tested the best track cars that Porsche has to offer in that range. I've got a lot of track time with a GT2RS but that would be out of your budget. No doubt however that you would love that car. If you are willing to expand your search beyond Porsche, a 700 HP mid-engined Corvette C8 is rumored to be released in a couple of months and it would be within your budget. The base C8 is rumored to have 500 HP and a turbo version is rumored to have 700 HP.

I think it'll be best for me to wait a few months. The 718 GT4/Spyder should hopefully be announced in a few months too. Perhaps I end up putting a deposit down on those and just pick up a Miata to hold me over in the mean time hah.

Ferrari 458? Jaguar F-Type R (LOVE mine, very sedanish when you want it, VERY challenging and fun when you want that)? Lambo Gallardo? Aston V12 Vantage? McLaren 570? Alfa 4C? If you want something challenging and fun, I would honestly suggest something without electric steering and likely in the 1995-2010 range.

Forgot to mention that this car would be my daily driver.

If you're only putting 2-3k miles on it a year, shouldn't be an issue!

What about a Cayenne Turbo? Might kill two birds with one stone. Decent for a family and great performance.

Doesn't really make sense. I already have a 4 door high powered sedan (RS7). I'm looking to get into something to have more fun in.
