Painting a 997.2 Good or bad idea?!
Hello!
I am in the market for a black (or very dark color) 2009 997.2 coupe.
I have found a good deal, but the car is silver. I was thinking of getting the car and have it painted in black. I need your opinion, especially, if I decide to sell the car in a few years. I usually keep my cars for at least 6-7 years. I would appreciate hearing your views.
Cheers,
Zack

Dont change the color.
However you can get a wrap done in any color you want.
Lasts about 5 to 6 years and the original paint beneath stays protected.

If you are concerned about resale value, then absolutely no. If you are not concerned - then paint away. Plenty of cars get painted different colors, all depends on what your ultimate concerns are.
As someone concerned about resale, I wouldn't do it myself.

It's a horrible idea. Are you having a hard time finding a black 997.2? I see many of them for sale. Throw in dark gray and the pool of cars is huge. Hard to see how the silver one is $10k cheaper than the same car in black. (assuming all specs are equal) Keep looking.
