Asheville, N.C to Aspen & Moab
I recommend traveling to Aspen, Co. via Buena Vista, Co. over Independence Pass, (beautiful) into Aspen. Hotel Jerome (our favorite). Moab, Ut. is an active small town consisting of a main st,.lined with numerous motels, eateries, gear/sporting goods shops & outfitters catering to hiking, biking, rock climbing, jeep rentals, etc. I believe there is an RV park set up with individual refurbished vintage RV units for rent on separate lots. Beautiful unique scenery, "Radiator Springs"?
Can not offer specifics on Moab lodging, other than that. Have a wonderful trip. There are many old mining towns with interesting activities throughout this part of the west. Most in Co. are surrounded by 13-14,000ft. snow capped mts.

Sounds like a great trip!
Near Moab, we’ve stayed at the Sorrel River Ranch several times. It’s right on the Colorado River in the Castle Valley area.
Easy access to Arches, as well.
And a curvy road along the river for fun.
