A friend and I were debating the merits of Porsche values and got into a debate over which is the next relatively attainable Porsche that will soon go up in value significantly. I am still leaning towards the 993 Coupe and he thinks 996 TT. Both of these cars are available for roughly the same kind of money right now (50-60k mile 993 Coupe vs 30-40k mile 996 TT). All other things being relatively equal, which car would you think is worth more in 10 years if at all?

Neither examples are investments. After taxes & maintenance costs you will be doing great if you can recoup all your costs on either model after 10 years IMO.

Let's ignore maintenance cost, as that is going to be present on just about any car you plan on driving.

Ignoring maintenance costs, I'd say the 996TT IMHO.

996 great car but ugly. In 10 years all cars will be turbo.
993 Classic look great car.

964 will surpass it. Try and find a good one for 50k. They will all be around $100k+ in 10 years. Mark it down.
