Original 2001 Porsche Boxster S front red brake Caliper and rotors left & right
I just upgraded my Boxster S front brakes against Brembo 6 pistons big brake kit.
So, I have the original front brake, from a 2001 Boxster S front calipers (red caliper, used : 63,000 miles) as well as the rotors (made in Germany) that have about 3’000 miles, and are in great shape, i.e.: no lip at all). I do not need these anymore.
They are now packed in the boxes of the Brembo large brake kit.
The pads are still in the calipers, but they need to be changed.
Also the OEM bolts that connects the calipers to the car will also be included, but, should not be used : Porsche recommendation is to change these bolts when you remove the calipers, they will be included to serve as showing the model. (size, etc..) but should NOT be used for the installation.
I did not removed the brake fluid of the caliper, this was fresh (3 month old Motul 600), but this should simplify the flush operation. A rubber plug is in place to keep the fluid well inside the caliper. Also, I cut 2 pieces of wood, to place in the rotor “position” in order to not have the pistons going off their position.
The brakes will be packed in the Brembo Big Disk kit, one for the left one, and one for the right one Take in account that the price of the shipping will be important (if possible for you, pick-up are welcome), the kit will be packed in two boxes, left and right.
