I've thought about that. I'm not sure how the carpet would lay down with a bunch of insulation removed off the bottom. Probably a non issue I guess. My main reason for removing the carpet is that there is less in the car to burn if it got smashed up. Due to an incident at the recent COTA race where a car was engulfed in flames, I'm looking at pulling the carpets and adding a fire suppression system. The inside is painted body color so it would still look pretty clean.

Granted the above happened in an old 944 but still makes you think twice. Two years ago we had a driver parish in a car fire at our local track at the PCA club race.

Ya not sure how the carpet would lay afterwards, I'm sure someone out there has tried...
While the carpet itself is flammable, it might also serve as a protective barrier for under car fires....either way a full cage(to prevent cabin collapse/door function) and fire-suppression is the best solution

Oh, and I need to PM you about buying those coilover sleeves you mentioned...

Cheers,
Rob

Maybe I'll split up asking prices:
Sport Seats with back seats- $1900
Steering wheel $300
All Carpets (including 'roll bar' carpet piece) $300
B-pillar door trim + door sill pieces $200
C pillar and rear '1/4 panel' pieces $300
Front door panels $250
Sun visors/pair $100
Misc pieces $100 for all.

Of course the Sport seat backs can be painted in any colour...easier with previously painted backs vs removing the plasticized coating on standard Sport seats...
