Cassette Tray & Ashtray from 1999 996
Replaced my cassette tray with a storage shelf and replaced the center console ashtray with another open storage box. So I have these two components I have no need for.
My 996 only has 33K miles on it, so the tray and ashtray are in excellent condition. I'm not a smoker and thus the ashtray was never used for cigarettes. Didn't use the tape player at all so the tape storage tray is practically new. All the slots spring right out when you push the eject buttons.
Here are some pics.
Items are free for pick up in the northern part of Kansas City, Missouri. I am willing to ship at the taker's expense.

SWFan,
I, too, have a 1999 996, and recently replaced the tape storage holder with a CD storage holder. But I still have the original CR-210 radio/casette unit. Just curious...have you retained the original radio unit (CR-210?) or have you upgraded? If so, which unit did you choose?

I still have the original unit, my 996 has the CD changer in the front boot, so playing CD's is not a problem. I constantly consider upgrading the entire stereo/sound system though because quite frankly its not very good. The speakers don't give good separation in my opinion and I have the hi-fi unit as well and half the time using it just causes the music to sound louder.
For the most part the music I listen to doesn't even require the stereo, I just shut it off and enjoy the noise coming from the back.
