Default Sold - 1988 924S 'SE' clone

Edited The car has sold.

I've gotten to the point where I just cannot justify keeping this thing. I just kind of lost interest in cars and have gotten back into mtn bikes.

I have (to some peoples chagrin) converted it to as close to an SE model as possible. This car is almost entirely manual: manual windows, manual sunroof, manual steering, no A/C, no rear wiper. In doing so I have been able to remove close to 200lbs from an already light vehicle.

Within the past year:

-Elephant Racing complete rear bushing set.
-Avon Tech M500s 225/50 ZR16 on 16" 951 PhoneDials (with fair Duplicolor paint job)
-Koni Sport (yellow) strut inserts and Ground Control adjustable ride height kit with 200lbs springs
-25.5 torsion bars
-rear sway drop links
-the majority of the suspension fasteners replaced with new
-Steinel alignment and complete suspension nut and bolt check

With the past 3 years:

-early 951 alloy A-arms and Rennbay balljoint kit
-Earl's fuel line with correct metric reusable hose ends
-fuel pressure regulator and damper
-19mm Cup 3 way rear sway and 25.5 (?) front
-short shift kit
-NOS manual window regulators

The door panels are correct manual window panels. All of the manual roof latches are correct. I have a correct manual roof panel that needs paint and the correct interior trim panel. The steering is a correct manual rack and I have a spare NOS intermediate shaft and rack boots.

The exhaust is a very early Speed Force Racing cat back, plus a new cat though it needs a bit of tweaking for fit. This car always passes Ohio E-check with flying colors.

The seats are 7 years old Momo rookies.

Complete IceShark wiring harness and Cibie H4 lenses and Varta lamps

Plus, I am including:

-NOS Porsche 'Euro' front bumper and used 'Euro' rear bumper plus all mounting hardware and factory driving lights. Both bumpers need paint. The front has never been painted and still has the factory sticker.
-set of front struts hosuing painted a close yellow to Bilstein inserts.
-Bilstein HD inserts (installed in the above housings)
-an extra set of NOS Bilstein Sport inserts (rare for this car).
-200lb Weltmeister springs
-the original power steering system in case you aren't interested in driving around with manual steering.
-the original 15 inch 'phone dial' wheels with a set or winter tires.
-Plus some extra other parts, NOS and otherwise, including an extra interior door panel and manual window regulator
-Service manual

Alway used Mobil1

Needs and issues

-The timing belt is due for a change, though not by mileage, just by how long it has been on the car. It is about 5 years old maybe less.
-Paint is nearly 20yrs old and chipped and thin in spot, though no rust bubbles.
-Had the dreaded loose window track at one point which causes a small crack in the upper door panel on the drivers side. The loose track has been replaced, though the crack is still there
-Has dash cracks.
-Has freshly topped off blinker fluid due to the recent rain.

The car has 117k mile or so on the clock. It was originally from North Carolina and has only been driven for ~4 winters up here, though not in the last 3 years or so.

$4,000.00.

The car is in northeast Ohio. Please do not ask me to part it and I would rather not have to handle shipping it. If you are out of state there are plenty of lister around here who can assist.

Eric Steinel was impressed with the setup, you should be too

Thanks for looking.

Mike,
Can we get some pics? Sounds like a great car. I just started converting my wife's 924S to all manual stuff as well. Sounds good! - Jay

And a few more. The goofy one of the wiring is a snap of part of the IceShark lighting harness:

Come on kids, don't let this thing go under-used! I hate that it doesn't get driven much anymore, but I just don't have the time or motivation anymore. Other hobbies and responsibilities have my interest these days.
