Up for immediate sale is a roller Silver EXT / Black INT 2003 Boxster S in good condition. The engine died back in 2013 while sitting idle at ~89k miles. Oil did not show signs of metal shavings, but the IMS bearing was never upgraded and without having opened the engine/rebuilding, this is the best guess from most mechanics I've talked to. Last it was attempted to be started, it felt like the timing was off. Up until then, I kept regular maintenance on it at a very reputable Porsche independent mechanic, new clutch, brakes and rotors, seal in transmission linkage port, regular oil changes, etc. Everything worked before the engine died. Battery is dead now as well. I have moved twice since the car died and unfortunately lost all keys except for the valet key. Was going to save money to rebuild/replace the engine, but at this point, it's just a project I probably won't be able to get around to. My loss, your gain if you want to replace the engine. This being a 2003, you could swap with almost any M96/M97 engine with minimal issues by my research. Or you could get Jake Raby to bulletproof it and increase displacement. Asking $3000 OBO. I'm looking for offers, not opinions, so please don't bother if you aren't making an offer. Motivated to sell, but obviously not in a hurry to get lowballed. Car is in Long Beach, CA.
