ill drop it down to 18 even, just for you ;-), i used to be an offshore fanatic... but after buying and wearing a 15202 Jumbo (original style royal oak, only slightly changed since 1972) I've fallen in love with RO's more than ROO's... they just have more character to me.. that being said.. im wearing a ROO this week.. but ill go take the jumbo out of safe keeping for next week.. something about this porthole design that genta made just makes it a timeless classic.

i guess it all depends on what your other pieces are.. my other pieces grab attention moreso... this piece is more about you knowing what you have and other watch enthusiasts and not so much on the random joe's and hobo's

If you don't get the watch thing then you don't get it. For the uninitiated, it might as well be a big SS Seiko which means it won't draw attention as much, and is still a beautiful piece you enjoy. That can be desirable. Of course I'd spot it at 100yds. 
As for commanding respect, well that may be a bit overstated but believe me it helps to be wearing something nice when shopping for another equally high-end one. Retailers tend to be just a little snooty. Gorgeous AP, stylewise right behind the Safari IMHO, best of luck with the sale.
