91 BMW 325iX AWD-5-spd Coupe- SOLD
I thought I would post this here also. I'll make this ad as clear as I can. My son graduates from college soon and I promised him a better car if he made it through. I'm selling my rare Lazur Blau Metallic 5-speed Coupe. I've owned it for 5 years and it's been a trooper and a curse at times. It has 225K miles and runs well. The drivetrain is solid, synthetic in the TC, 3.91 LSD rearend/open front diff. It does need a few things and I'll be as honest as I can about those issues as I've done all the work myself.
The Good: Starts every time, every morning. Nice respray with clearcoat, cleans up nice. Motor runs well, never overheats. Shifts smooth up and down, clutch feels solid. Interior intact but needs a good cleaning. No tears and the dash is uncracked. Has working heated seats, windows, and sunroof. Ski bag in good condition. I replaced the head and did a valve job about 10K ago. Rotors/pads replaced at 215K. Front driveline replaced with new part and spacers about 3K ago. New Z rated tires with about 1200 miles on them mounted on 13.8 lb forged 15" wheels. New 4 month old battery. Timing belt, water pump, and all cooling hoses done at 215K. H&R Sport Springs. Fog lights have new Lexan covers. New catalytic installed 2 months ago and passed rigid Cali. smog test easily, Dansk muffler, new Boge shocks for rear supplied.
The Bad: Salvage title reportedly from an engine fire before it was repainted. Has a small oil leak from the valve cover. Valve train needs another adjustment. There is an odd rpm related hum/vibe from the rear (CV, axle bearing, caliper, parking brake hanging up, guibo?). Needs a new front CV boot (2 supplied). 6-button OBC quit (replacement supplied). 2 very small rust spots (1/2" x 1") in the usual place right behind the front wheels and the rear lower valence below the bumper is dented on the RR corner. Long scratch on the drivers side but no dents anywhere else. DS rear window trim piece needs new clips so it is off the car. Crack on passenger side windshield. AC converted to R-134a and blew cold until 1 month ago. The interior fan quit working so the AC won't kick on. It blows a relay for the fan and I can't figure it out. I think it needs a new relay board (got wet) from a salvage yard.
Again I'm trying to be upfront about the car, it's no garage queen or trophy rig but cleaner than most of the rusty hulks on eBay selling for much more...it is a car that kicks butt in the snow and will probably run for another 75K like most 325 models. I have numerous good photos of any body issues mentioned. I'm pricing it accordingly. It would be a nice car for someone needing a good winter beater or willing to put a little time into it to fix little bugaboos. I would prefer a local sale from forum exposure but any buyer arranges their own shipping except if you are from Nigeria and use Western Union.
Thanks for looking and you can take a break from reading this longwinded ad now.

Not since I've owned it but all fluids have always been clean and unburnt. The TC is a gear drive/viscous coupler type. I've run synthetic Mobil 1 ATF since I bought it. The front driveline is new with the spacers to engage the splines deeper; that's a weak point on the OE design. The AWD operation has always been solid.

I know, but I'd give it away before I'd tear into another car for parts. Look at my sig, and there are two more cars in the family. It's not about the money, it's about the time and aggravation. I do have a guy coming over tonight to check it out. If it's not gone by next Monday I'm donating it to the local High School for auto shop.
