Default Porsche Parade 2013 Coverage

58th Annual Porsche Parade

During the Concours Awards banquet every year the MC asks everyone to stand up. Then, he calls out a number corresponding to the number of Parades you’ve been to, and if your number gets called you sit down. He starts at 1-5, then goes through 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 pretty quickly. As the number goes up, more people sit down. Until he got to 50, where there were 3 people left standing. 51, then 52 and someone sits down, at 53 another sits down leaving one man standing. Finally, he gets to 55 and the last man takes a seat. A huge applause echoed in the ballroom. Of the 58 Porsche Parades this man has only missed 3. It was our first time being at Porsche Parade and it was an absolute thrill being there through all of the events so I can only imagine all of the things that this man has seen through his years of Porsche Parading.

Full Schedule

This year the Porsche Club of America (PCA) went all out. There was a full onslaught of events to attend, everything from radio controlled car races, autocross, banquets, and parties. This year, we sponsored the “Ice Cream Social”. An event where everyone could come out and walk their way through a buffet of ice cream with all the ingredients to make an amazing sundae while watching the RC racing, and seeing what XPEL had going on out front. During the event we gave away a headlight kit, and hood, fender, and mirror kit with installation on site. We had Detroit area installer Larry Millen from Paint Protection Plus installing the XPEL ULTIMATE film kits for us that we brought up from San Antonio, TX.

Concours d’ Elegance

Concours was a great event with Porsche’s from all parts of the country. There were four cars that placed high in their class that were protected by XPEL ULTIMATE full frontal kits. Three of which that won first. This gorgeous 911 Carrera S that was driven all the way from Sacramento, California won first in it’s class and is protected by XPEL ULTIMATE film on the full front, rocker panels, rear spoiler, and rear wheel openings. With our ULTIMATE film you can protect your paint while maintaining that beautiful factory finish. Concours approved.

Thanks for the write up and link. I had debated going tomthis but was unsure about bringing wife and kids from CT. Now I know it's worth it.

Larry Millen of Clear Auto Bra (dba, paint Protection plus) installed the clear bra on my 2011 Carrera GTS. He did a fantastic job. Larry is 3M certified, his shop is professionally lit, his install clothing is synthetic material so that fabric particles don't get between the bra and the car and he is reasonably priced. In addition, he is the go-to guy for most of the local Porsche dealers. If you are in Michigan and need a clear bra, then Larry Millen is the first and only place to go!
