Heading to PEC Atlanta in a few weeks
Some business partners are treating a group of us to a day at PEC Atlanta in a few weeks. I am excited to say the least. I have done several BMW M track days before which is the only other experience I have with events like this. Anything I should be aware of? Anything to look for/concentrate on or something you wish you knew heading there for the first time? I cant wait!

When I did it before covid, the instructor rode shotgun but since, they are in another car and communicate with radios. I hear it works but would rather have the instructor in the car with me. There are countless videos of each "module" that you could watch to familiarize yourself before going. Regardless, it's a blast.

Thanks for the feedback. The M track day events I did operated the same way whereby there was no instructor in the car, just a radio. I agree I would rather have someone in there with me but I guess that’s not in the cards at the moment.

Didn't do a driving experience, but did walk around the museum for a while and the building in general. Would recommend leaving time to do so. It's quite a cool place.

I've done it four times in five different cars.
Check to make sure you are not liable for damages or if your buddy is. It's a $10k deductible. You can buy it down to $2000 for $50. There is zero runoff on the track so don't f it up.
Make sure your adjustments are all fine tuned before you start. You are going to be excited so take your time. Seats, mirrors etc.
Have fun, the car is far more capable than you so push it past your comfort zone.
EDIT: Make reservations at the 356 resturant near the window way in advance. It overlooks the track. I kept forgetting. It fills up fast. I liked to book a morning track time and then have a late lunch near the window and watch the afternoon session.

I did it pre-COVID with an instructor. I'm not a track guy, so I had nothing to compare it to, but I had a blast. The track is very short. It certainly opens your eyes how capable these cars are.
Don't miss the museum in the lower level if you can. The food in the dining room upstairs was very good; we made reservations there after my session and it was excellent. People who did the driving simulator told me it was a lot of fun. The gift shop has some outrageous prices but there is a lot to choose from. I spent way too much there.
Enjoy!

I'm heading there next weekend for an 80th birthday celebration for my father. I look forward to a memorable experience.

Hey all - I need to schedule my delivery with PEC Atlanta. Based on everything I’ve read here it sounds like people prefer the morning session but curious what people on this thread think? I’m thinking of doing a morning session on either a Thursday / Friday (then getting PPF done right after that). Would appreciate any advice you all have. Thanks in advance!
