Default Father and Son Journey to Germany: European Delivery of the NEW GT2RS!!!

***Father & Son Journey to Germany: European Delivery of the NEW GT2RS***

Michael and Harris Levitas have been heavily involved in the Porsche racing community since Harris could remember. Michael has been self-sufficient engineering and racing professionally to his committed brand of Porsche since the early 80’s with multiple victories, winner and podiums of several pro-category races, winner of the 2006 Grand-AM Daytona 24 hour event, 2013 IMSA GT3 Gold Cup Champion, and at one point in his career accumulating the largest sum of points by any USA Porsche factory race driver. To this day, Michael is the only professional race car driver in IMSA that will suit up for his race car, finish, and change to do his own setup with his TPC Racing team.

Harris could remember being at the track as early as 5 years old and began on board to assist his father in their endeavors as early as the age of 8 years old. With racing blood in his veins, it was surely a duo to be unmatched and no comparison to the competition with the passionate love for racing Porsche’s.

Almost 20 years later after Harris was born, it is their time to journey to the Porsche factory located in Stuttgart, Germany to gain the experience of taking in a Porsche European Delivery and of not no normal Porsche, but the NEW Porsche GT2RS! Michael is heavily involved with multiple engineers who designed the fastest factory street car in the world and will get to tour parts of the factory which you “have to know someone” to be able to experience.

With set goals and a trip of a lifetime planned, Michael and Harris will be taking their Brand New Porsche GT2RS straight to Nürburgring and before even leaving the Porsche Factory, installing the world renowned DSC Sport controller to their brand new Porsche as its first modification!

Michael and Harris are going to the Ring to set one fast lap times in their new GT2RS powered by the DSC Sport controller to show the world that the duo is a force to be wrecking with.

After the Ring has been dominated, the next track in their sights is the infamous motorsport track, which was recently raced by Formula One, SPA in Belgium.

Be sure to stay subscribed and tune in to this thread as we update their status throughout the trip in Europe as these two track gurus plan to attack Europe in full force. We will be posting tons of content including in-car footage of the two and the GT2RS attacking multiple tracks and dialing in the DSC Sport controller to Michael and Harris’s driving style and preference in the new Porsche.

This is an experience of a lifetime and we want to share it with the entire Porsche community as hard work pays off and dreams do come true!

As a first stop after taking delivery of the new GT2RS, Michael and Harris see it's grocery getter capabilities by fully loading the new Porsche with essentials for the trip. As you can see the pictures below, it did a fair job passing the test of these gentlemen! Onward to the Ring they said!

Second stop after some much needed rest from the traveling, Michael and Harris go to the Nurburgring!!! Michael in his own words states this about his experience driving on the longest and fastest track in the World! "We will be bragging that we will not challenge the ring time the ring must be respected it's without a rival the most difficult circuit in the world it takes a thousand laps to say you have good knowledge of the ring and are worthy of the challenge. There are so many crashes each day all have one thing in common they did not respect the ring. The average speed is way higher than any other circuit and the length of the lap requires double the concentration than is realized. On week nights the ring is open 5:00-7:00 it's a cars and coffee on mega steroids incredible amount of supercars come to witness and respect the ring waiting to see who enters the toll booth. Beyond the perfect place to take our skills and truly experience the GT2RS!"

More updates to come including in car footage of their experience on the Ring!!! RESPECT THE RING!

How long do you stay at the Ring?

After some testing on the Ring, Michael and Harris had the opportunity to have the new GT2RS on the Setup table many thanks to the Ring Police at the Nurburgring for their hospitality and went back out for more laps! Here you can see Michael as well caress his new baby and cleaning down the tire rubber off the sparkling white paint. The DSC Sport controller has been working flawlessly, and with their next track of SPA on the hit list, they were sure to get the best calibration file possible for the new GT2RS!

Next on their journey was the Belgium Motorsports track driven on by all the worlds famous race car drivers, SPA! With the opportunity to have a track day with quite some bit of other exotic and track speced race cars, they slapped numbers on the side of their GT2RS and got busy! Below you can see some of the other drivers and vehicles involved and how it led to a load of fun we are sure! As you see in the last picture, the smile on Harris's face as he is about to head on track and exit pit lane.

Here is Harris on track before the rain got heavy and a bit nasty.

Looks like one, but it is one of Curbstone‘s race bugs, look like fun to drive, but not really quick.

After Michael and Harris enjoyed their stay at Spa, they went thru the country back roads enjoying every second that the GT2RS had to offer. With curvy hills and plenty of elevation changes, they sure had the feeling that every person desires which is the exciting stress free joyride on German and Belgium country roads and the noises of the famous flat six motor, twin turbos, and tire squeal from driving on the open road bonding the Father and Son on this big achievement and dream fulfillment. They headed back to the Ring for the remainder of their stay and visited the boys from Ring police at the local German pizzeria restaurant. Great times lead to great memories!

A quote from Harris shows his excitement on driving on the most famous track in the world, the Ring! "There's just something awesome about driving the most amazing, complicated and unforgiving track in the world. Can't wait for the GT2RS to get here! Just a few more weeks until we drive it in the US"

This photo above really shows how much they drove and enjoyed the Ring on their journey together and how enthusiastic they have been about driving their new to them GT2RS!

As their trip came to an end, there was one more stop they had to make before departing back to the states, drop off the GT2RS to the port.

Soon they will be reunited within weeks time. Then we can only guess what ventures these two will be onto next with the GT2RS back at home in the United States.
