Hi,

One of my best friends recently moved from LA to North Carolina (Raleigh area). He hasn't been sleeping much due to a new 3 month old baby and was doing a late night chicken wing run for his wife when he got caught going 65 in a 45 immediately after taking a freeway exit.

He didn't realize he was over the limit and now is freaking out because he read online that 20mph over the speed limit meant a 30-day driver's license suspension (this is a guy who has never received a speeding ticket in 20 years of driving).

Two questions for the NC folks:

1. Do they really suspend your license out there for 20 over (first offense)?
2. In Dallas and LA, they have law firms that specialize entirely on driving infractions. Are there any similar firms that cover the Raleigh area?
